State Police Investigate Reported Sexual Assault at Charles River Esplanade in Boston

Yesterday, June 16, 2007, at approximately 11:54 p.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Boston responded to investigate a sexual assault that took place against an adult female on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

Preliminary investigation by Sergeant Brian L. Howe, of H-Troop Investigations, indicates that between approximately 11:00-11:15 p.m. an adult female was jogging on a path located on the western peninsula, approximately ΒΌ west of the Mass Avenue Bridge when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male. That suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid twenties, approximately 5'8" tall, 170-180 pounds, with a shaved head and a "chubby" build. He was last seen wearing dark shorts and a dark t-shirt.
