State Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 95 North in Georgetown

Today, at about 10:45 a.m., State Police from the Newbury Barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 95 North, north of Route 133, in Georgetown.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper David Martinelle indicates that 1997 Buick sedan was traveling in the center lane on Route 95 North when it moved over into the high speed lane and struck a 2000 Toyota pickup truck which was also traveling on Route 95 North. The Buick subsequently went off the right side of the roadway and crashed.

The operator of the Buick, 85 year-old Helen Perry of Lexington, was taken by MedFlight helicopter to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries. The passenger of the Buick, 52 year-old Gina Perry of Lexington, was taken by ambulance to Anna Jacques Hospital with serious injuries. The operator of the Toyota, 32 year-old Eric Steele of Falmouth was uninjured. The name of the victim is being withheld pending proper family notification.

The crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.

The right two lanes Route 95 North were shut down after the crash for approximately two hours. State Police Crime Scene Services, the Georgetown Fire Department and MassHighways, assisted troopers at the scene.
