State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 95 in Georgetown

Today at approximately 2:52 p.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Newbury responded to a single vehicle crash on the Route 95 South by Central street in Georgetown that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Frank Paupolo indicated that 47 year old Diane Rowe of Lafayette road in Salisbury Massachusetts was operating a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, lost control of the motor vehicle and exited the highway striking several trees. The operator was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the motor vehicle She was the only occupant and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Georgetown Fire and Rescue and Masshighways assisted troopers at the scene. The roadway re-opened at approximately 4:45 p.m.
