State Police Investigate Two Crashes on Route 109 in Medway
Preliminary investigation by Sergeant Stephen Kelly indicates two troopers were conducting speed enforcement on Route 495 North in Milford when they observed a 1997 Honda CBR1100 motorcycle operated by 41 year-old Peter Tziamouris of Uncasville, Connecticut who was operating without a helmet. Troopers attempted to stop Tziamouris who proceeded down the ramp onto Route 109 East in Milford where he eventually pulled over. As one of the troopers got out of his cruiser, Tziamouris sped away and was pursued by both cruisers on Route 109 eastbound. The second cruiser lost control and crashed at 105 Milford Street in Medway. The first cruiser continued to follow the motorcycle not realizing the second cruiser was involved in a crash. Tziamouris continued on Route 109 East and struck a 2000 Toyota sedan operated by 35 year-old Amit Gupta of Ashland. The trooper involved in the crash at 105 Milford Street in Medway sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Milford Hospital. Tziamouris sustained serious injuries as a result of the second crash and was taken by medical helicopter to UMass Medical Center. Gupta was uninjured in the second crash.
