State Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian Crash on the Essex Street onramp to the Route 93 South O'Neill Tunnel in Boston

On Saturday, July 21, 2007 at approximately 2:53 a.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Tunnels Barracks responded to a serious pedestrian crash on the Essex Street onramp to the Route 93 South O'Neill Tunnel in Boston.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper John Staco indicates that 19 year-old Reginald Etienne of 279 West Elm Street, Brockton was operating a 1996 Toyota sedan on the Essex Street onramp to the Route 93 South O'Neill Tunnel in Boston when his vehicle struck 27 year-old pedestrian Brendan Miller of Boston. Miller was transported by Boston EMS ambulance to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries.

Etienne, who was not injured in the crash, was arrested on scene and charged with operating a motor vehicle after suspension.
