State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 28 in Quincy

Today, at approximately 4:20 p.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a one-vehicle crash on the Ramp from Route 28 South to Route 93 South in Quincy that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kathleen Carney indicates 35-year old Jonathan D. Allard of Attleboro was operating a 2005 Kenworth Semi-Tractor on the ramp from Route 28 South to Route 93 South when Allard lost control of the Tractor, traveled off the right shoulder of the ramp and collided into a rocky ledge. Allard sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Caritas's Good Samaritan Hospital by the Randolph Fire Department where he was later declared deceased. It is unknown if Allard was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Randolph Fire Department and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle recovery the ramp from Route 28 South to Route 93 South was completely closed for approximately 2 ½ hours.

No further information is available at this time. Please do not call the barracks directly.
