Preliminary investigation by Trooper Christopher Fraser indicates that Nhan H. She swerved onto the median and into oncoming traffic on the southbound side of Route 146 where she struck a 2006 Nissan Armada operated by Carey Hartman, 37, of Douglas.

Ms. Ly and a ten year old male passenger were transported by ambulance to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. A second passenger, Tong Thanh Pham, 24, of Worcester, suffered serious injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Mr. Hartman suffered minor injuries and his five year old female passenger sustained serious injuries. Both were also transported by ambulance to UMass Medical Center in Worcester. An un-named adult female passenger was not injured.

Route 146 South was shut down for 30 minutes for the medical helicopter. The entire road was re-opened after approximately 90 minutes.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction section and State Police Crime Scene Services section. Sutton EMS assisted at the scene.

No other information is available at this time. Please do not call the barracks directly.
