State Police Apprehend Suspect in Stolen Semi-Tractor in West Bridgewater
At about 5:25 p.m., while on patrol on Route 106 in West Bridgewater, Trooper David Lemar observed 35 year old Marc Senatus of 28 Woodvale St. in Brockton operating a 1996 Kenworth Semi-Tractor which was recently reported stolen from Citywide Transport in Avon. Trooper Lemar activated his cruiser's emergency lights and siren but Senatus failed to stop. While attempting to stop Senatus, Trooper Lemar became aware that a West Bridgewater Police Officer had been involved in an incident with Senatus prior to the pursuit that resulted in that officer discharging his weapon. Senatus lead Trooper Lemar on a slow speed pursuit that continued into Brockton and ended a short time later at 61 Union St. in West Bridgewater after a successful deployment of tire deflation devices by Sergeant Thomas Reed of the East Bridgewater Police Department.
Senatus was taken into custody and transported to the State Police Barracks in Middleboro where he was booked on the following charges: 1) Assault by means of a dangerous weapon (Semi-Tractor), 2) Larceny of a motor vehicle, 3) Failure to stop for a police officer, 4) Operating to endanger, 5) Negligent operation, 6) Stop sign violation, 7) Marked lanes violation 8) Failure to yield at an intersection and 9) Receiving stolen motor vehicle.
Senatus is currently being held at the State Police Barracks in Middleboro and is due to be arraigned tomorrow in Brockton District Court.
The West Bridgewater Police Department is conducting an investigation into the events involving Senatus and their officer.
