State Police Investigate Crash on Route 95 in Waltham

Today at approximately 6:35 p.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Concord responded to a single vehicle crash on the on- ramp from Trapelo Rd to Route 95 North in Waltham that resulted in serious injury.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Russell Phippen indicated that a Chevrolet Corvette, was being operated by 38 year old Steven Colon of Waltham when he lost control of the motor vehicle and exited the highway becoming wedged between two trees. A passenger in the vehicle from Templeton Massachusetts called 911 and was un- injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Waltham Fire Department and Mass Highways assisted troopers at the scene. The driver was taken by medical transport to Boston Medical Center. The on- ramp from Trapelo Road to route 95 North was closed for approximately 1 hour pending the crash investigation and vehicle removal.
