Today at approximately 2:40 p.m., troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Framingham responded to a two vehicle crash on Route 95 southbound south of Route 16 (exit 21) in Wellesley that resulted in one serious injury.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kevin O'Hara indicates 52-year-old Ladir P. The Mazda traveled to the left, crossed two lanes where it was struck on the driver's side by a 1999 GMV van that was traveling Route 95 South in the left lane and operated by 60-year-old Joseph A. Antonellis of Bourne. The Mazda continued into the median and came to rest facing south against the median guardrail. Oliveira and the passenger, 41 year-old Maria D. Ferreira of Everett were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash. Oliveira sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Leahy Clinic by ambulance. Ferreira sustained serious injuries and was transported to Beth Israel Hospital by medical helicopter. Joseph A. Antonellis and his passenger 61-year-old Carol M. Antonellis of Bourne were uninjured in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Wellesley Fire Department and the Mass Highway Department assisted troopers at the scene.

During the investigation and vehicle recovery all lanes of Route 95 South were closed for approximately 45 minutes. The two left lanes of Route 95 South were closed for approximately 2 ½ hours. Route 95 North was closed for approximately 20 minutes while the medical helicopter landed for treatment and transport.
