State Police Arrest Two in Connection with a Marijuana Grow Operation in Agawam

This afternoon, State Police detectives assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office and the Hampden County District Attorney's Office, in conjunction with officers and special agents from the Hampshire-Franklin Drug Taskforce, the Hampden County Drug Taskforce, the Agawam Police Department, the East Longmeadow Police Department, the Goshen Police Department, the Northampton Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the DEA Taskforce, the Internal Revenue Service Springfield Office, and the U.S. Attorney's Springfield Office executed five search warrants in the greater Springfield area in the culmination of a lengthy investigation into a large indoor marijuana grow operation located at 1779 Main Street, Agawam.

The warrants resulted in the seizure of 103 high-grade marijuana plants, 44 grow lights, and two 50 Kilowatt generators. Additionally, the following items were seized for forfeiture as the proceeds of the sale of controlled substances: a 2006 Corvette, 2004 Ford Explorer, 2002 Indian Chief Motorcycle, Yamaha 660 Quad, 20 foot Stingray boat, and two Arctic Cat snowmobiles.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested in connection with the grow operation. 46-year-old Mark Danalis of 96 Edmund Street, East Longmeadow was arrested at 1779 Main Street, Agawam and charged with Manufacture/Distribution/Cultivation of a Class D Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance, and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Laws. 55-year-old Bryan Clarke of 32 Fuller Road, Goshen was arrested at his residence and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance, Unlicensed Possession of a Handgun, and 11 counts of Improper Storage of Weapons.

Mark Danalis was transported to the Agawam Police Department where he was booked and is being held on $20,000 bail. Danalis will be arraigned Monday in Westfield District Court. Bryan Clarke was transported to the Northampton Police Department where he was booked and is being held on $5,000 bail. Clarke will be arraigned Monday in Northampton District Court.
