State Police Investigate Serious Crash on Route 495 North in Littleton

Today, at approximately 8:00 a.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Concord responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 495 North near Route 2 in Littleton that resulted in one serious injury and two minor injuries.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper James Burke indicates that 22 year-old Faberson G. Diogo of Hyannis was operating a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am sedan on Route 495 North near Route 2 in Littleton in the middle lane when he moved over into the high speed lane and lost control of the vehicle, spinning out and rolling over into the median. As a result of the crash, Diogo received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Emerson Hospital. The front seat passenger, 51 year-old Amilton Guedes of Hyannis was also transported by ambulance with minor injuries to Emerson Hospital. The passenger in the rear seat, a 23 year-old female was seriously injured as a result of the crash and was transported by ambulance to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Littleton Police and Fire Departments and Boxboro EMS assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle removal, the middle and left lanes of Route 495 North were closed for approximately ½ hours.
