State Police Investigate Serious Crash on Route 128 South in Lexington

Today, at approximately 3:35 p.m. Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Concord responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 128 South prior to exit 31 (Routes 4 and 225) in the Town of Lexington that resulted in serious injuries.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper John Ciszek indicates that 18 year-old Katherine Woo of Lexington, MA, was operating a 2003 Toyota Sequoia on Route 128 South in the Town of Lexington when the vehicle lost control, veered to the right and rolled over before coming to rest in the breakdown lane. Woo sustained serious injuries in the crash, and was transported to the Lahey Clinic.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Lexington Fire Department and MassHighway assisted Troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle removal, the two right travel lanes of Route 128 South were closed for approximately two hours.
