State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 93 North in Medford

Today, at approximately 1:45 p.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Medford responded to a one-vehicle motorcycle crash on Route 93 North prior to Route 60 (exit 32) in Medford that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Joseph Barteaux indicates that 34-year-old Eric Armington of Canton was operating a 2006 Ducati 999S motorcycle on Route 93 North in Medford when he lost control of the motorcycle, exited the traveled portion of the roadway to the left, and struck a concrete median barrier and light pole. Armington, who was ejected off of the motorcycle during the crash, sustained serious injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Medford Fire Department, Medford Police Department and Masshighways assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle removal, the right and left travel lanes of Route 93 North and the left travel lane of Route 93 South were closed for approximately 3 hours.
