State Police Promote 67 Officers
Colonel Delaney stated to the newly promoted members of the Department, "Congratulations on your promotions to superior ranks, which will require new commands and responsibilities. It is important to realize that rank alone does not make you a leader. A leader must evolve from virtues
such as courage, temperance, fortitude, selflessness, and empathy. A true leader must inspire, guide, and motivate their subordinates every day. A true leader does not choose the path of least resistance, or make decisions based on what is popular or expedient, but rather what is right!
I trust that each of you will strive to become true leaders of this agency. That you will hold our core values and traditions close to your heart, and inspire and motivate others to share our noble vision."
