Feb 20: Fugitive from the Top 10 Wanted Sex Offender List Apprehended

Today, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section concluded their investigation into the whereabouts of 25-year-old Derek J. Boisvert when he was located and arrested in Hampton, New Hampshire by members of the Hampton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. Boisvert is classified in Massachusetts as a High Risk, Level 3 Sex Offender and has outstanding arrest warrants out of Middlesex County Superior Court and Lowell District Court for Statutory Rape of a Child and two counts of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. After numerous attempts to locate Boisvert, he was placed on the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section's Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List on Thursday, February 7, 2008.

The State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section obtained information that assisted them in tracking Boisvert to Hampton, New Hampshire. After tracking Boisvert to New Hampshire, the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section contacted the Hampton Police Department to request assistance with their investigation. While conducting interviews today, members of the Hampton Police Department and the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section received information that Boisvert was residing at 31 Ocean Boulevard, Apt. # 1 in Hampton, New Hampshire. At approximately 11:30 a.m. members of the Hampton Police Department and the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section located Boisvert in his apartment and placed him under arrest for being a Fugitive from Justice. Boisvert actively resisted arrest and was tasered by Hampton Police Officers during the struggle. Boisvert was transported to the Hampton Police Department for booking and is being held at the Rockingham County Jail pending rendition proceedings to Massachusetts.
