Mass., N.H., Maine State Police to Highlight Summer Traffic Enforcement Strategies

On Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 10 a.m., the Massachusetts State Police will join the New Hampshire State Police and Maine State Police at the Seabrook Rest Area, on Interstate 95, northbound, in Seabrook, N.H., to highlight cooperative traffic enforcement strategies along the I-95 corridor for the summer months. Media are invited.

Troop commanders from each agency will discuss the enhanced enforcement operations planned, including high-visibility patrols, adding extra patrol units, the utilization of laser and radar for speed enforcement, as well as the use of motorcycle and aircraft units to monitor traffic. The cooperative effort will begin this weekend, around the clock, particularly targeting impaired and aggressive drivers, with the aim of reducing speeding and limiting traffic crashes.
