State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Readsboro Road in Monroe
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Eric Baumann indicates that 69-year-old Ronald Resseguie of Boylston was operating a 1999 GMC Yukon northbound on Readsboro Road when he lost control of his vehicle, struck the guardrail on the right hand side and then crossed over the roadway to the left, striking a rock ledge. The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on the passenger side. Resseguie, who was not wearing his safety belt, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two passengers in the vehicle, 96-year-old Elsie Palmer of Rowe and 65-year-old Frederick Lowell of Rowe were transported by ambulance to North Adams Medical Center with minor injuries. Palmer was wearing a safety belt and Lowell was not.
This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Florida Fire Department, Charlemont Ambulance and North Adams Ambulance assisted Troopers at the scene.
