MASSACHUSETTS STATE POLICE AWARDS CEREMONY

Today, at 11:00 a.m., the Massachusetts State Police honored twenty-six award recipients at a ceremony held at the Grand Staircase of the State House in Boston. The award recipients include state and local police officers and nine civilians. The award recipients were honored for contributing to public safety, for performing acts of bravery and for engaging in police work that was beyond the call of duty.

Their dedication to the mission of public safety is demonstrated by their acts of bravery and meritorious service. Protecting and serving the public is a noble mission, and the officers and civilians being recognized today, best illustrate what it means to serve. "




THE MEDAL OF VALOR - Established to Bestow recognition upon sworn police personnel who have performed specific acts of bravery or have exhibited outstanding courage while performing their duties.
