State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 20 East in Brimfield

Today at approximately 12:05 p.m., troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 20 East at Saint Claire Road in Brimfield that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper John Denapoli indicates that 57-year-old Thomas Bucior of Wales was operating a 1998 Ford Windstar Van on Route 20 East in Brimfield when he lost control, exited the road to the right and rolled over. Bucior, who was not wearing a safety belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pinned underneath it. Bucior suffered serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Brimfield Fire Department assisted troopers at the scene.
