State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 3 Plymouth

On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at approximately 2:46 a.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Bourne responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 3 northbound, just north of exit 2 in Plymouth that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Dana Tobey indicates that 49-year-old Patricia Eagan of Hingham was operating a 2004 Honda Odyssey on Route 3 northbound when the vehicle traveled into the median strip impacting some small trees and catching on fire. The lone occupant suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was declared deceased on the scene. .

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Medical Examiners Office. The Plymouth Police and Fire Departments and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the crash investigation, Route 3 northbound remained partially closed for approximately 2 hours.
