State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 93 Canton

Yesterday, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Framingham responded to a One-vehicle crash on Route 93 Northbound at exit 2B, the Route 138 north exit in Canton, which resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Ruben Colon indicates that a 2007 Ford Escape traveling north on Route 93 lost control while maneuvering from the passing lane and back from the breakdown lane, rolled over and came to rest in the third travel lane. 29 year old Elizabeth A. Saba from Brockton, the sole occupant wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and State Police Detectives. Canton Police and Fire Departments, Mass Highway and the Medical Examiner's Office assisted Troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle recovery, Route 93 northbound was closed for two and one half hours. Traffic was diverted over Route 138 back to Route 93.

No further information is available at this time. Please do not call the barracks directly.
