State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 202 in Westfield

On August 14, 2009, at approximately 7:23 p.m. Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Russell responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 202at Lockhouse Road in Westfield which resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Todd Renaud indicates that 20 year old Jacob P. Reed from Chesterfield was driving a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. The Chevrolet Camaro collided with a 2001 Harley Davidson operated by a 47 year-old Kevin Kirouac from Westfield. Mr Kirouac was transported to Noble Hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Jacob Reed and his two passengers did not receive any injuries.
This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, Hampden County District Attorney's Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Police and Fire Departments from Westfield assisted Troopers at the scene.
