State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Route 28 North in Medford
Investigation by State Police indicates that a 2003 BMW X5, operated by 33-year-old Brian J. Fountain of Saugus, was involved in a crash with a male pedestrian. The investigation revealed that at the time of the crash, the victim was in the right lane of the roadway.
The victim, 53-year-old Brian F. Staunton of Medford, was transported by Armstrong Ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:55 p.m.
The Fellsway remained closed for approximately three hours while the scene was processed.
The crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Medford Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
