State Police Investigate Serious Crash on Route 95 South in Foxboro

On February 13, 2010, at approximately 4:48 p.m., troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Foxboro responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 95 South in the Town of Foxboro. The crash resulted in one serious injury.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Arvin McGowan indicates that 47-year-old Paula Wright from Richmond, Rhode Island was operating a 1999 Chevrolet pick-up on the Route 140 South on- ramp to Route 95 South when the vehicle went across all three travel lanes and struck a tree in the median. Upon impact, 48-year-old Scott Davis from North Attleboro was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over striking DAVIS.

Both WRIGHT and the passenger were transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital. Wright sustained minor injuries in the crash. The passenger sustained serious injuries. At the time of the crash WRIGHT was wearing a seat belt. The passenger was not.

As a result of the preliminary investigation, WRIGHT will be charged with OUI alcohol second offense, OUI alcohol resulting in serious injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and marked lanes.

This crash remains under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Foxboro Fire Department, Mansfield Fire Department, and DOT Highway Division assisted troopers at the scene.

During the crash investigation the left and center travel lanes were closed for approximately three hours.
