State Police Trooper makes large marijuana seizure during routine motor vehicle stop

On Sunday January 3, 2010 at approximately 11:35 p.m., Trooper Michael Crowley, of the State Police Barracks in Newbury, stopped a motor vehicle traveling on Route 95 northbound in the town of Newbury.

Trooper Crowley observed as the vehicle, a 2008 Subaru Impreza, weaved in and out of the northbound travel lanes and committed numerous motor vehicle infractions.

During the course of the motor vehicle stop, the operator, Corey Oliver, 26, of Limington, Maine was found to be in possession of twelve pounds of marijuana.

Mr. Oliver was subsequently charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, and Marked Lanes. He was brought to the Essex County Correctional Facility to be held pending arraignment in Newburyport District Court.

Assisting Trooper Crowley at the scene was Trooper Gary Mozuch with his K-9 Jacco.
