State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 2 in Shelburne

Today, at approximately 1:26 p.m. Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Shelburne Falls responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 2, just east of the barracks in Shelburne that resulted in one fatality and two injuries..

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Jason Macomber indicates that a 2004 Honda Civic traveling Route 2 westbound was being operated by a 22 year-old Sean Williams from Clarksburg, A 1997 Dodge Pick up traveling Route 2 eastbound and was being operated by a 52 year-old Stephen Olaskiewicz and a passenger 51 year-old Carol Olaskiewicz both from Concord, New Hampshire. The Honda then struck the Dodge Pick up truck. Sean Williams was seriously injured in the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene. Stephen Olaskiewicz and Carol Olaskiewicz were transported to Franklin Medical Center with injuries.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Massachusetts State Crime Scene Services Section and the Medical Examiner office. The Shelburne Fire Department and police as well as Buckland Police also assisted at the scene.
