State Police Investigate Tanker Rollover on Route 2 West in Lincoln
Preliminary investigation by Trooper James Burke indicates that 47-year-old John REVENE of Westboro was operating a 2006 Freightliner FLD120 tanker truck on Route 2 West in Lincoln when the truck went onto the right shoulder of the roadway and rolled over onto three vehicles that were to the left of the truck. The tanker was filled with approximately 8,500 gallons of diesel fuel. The tanker remained intact. REVENE was transported to MGH via medical helicopter with serious injuries. The truck is owned by Trans Speck Trucking of Millbury.
The three vehicles involved were a 2006 Toyota Matrix operated by 52-year-old Elizabeth Buchanan of Arlington. She was transported to Emerson Hospital with minor injuries. The middle vehicle was a 2007 Toyota Avalon operated by 64-year-old Richard Frese of Concord, and the lead vehicle was a 2000 Chrysler mini van operated by 48-year-old Christiane Rabich from Ontario, Canada. Both Frese and Rabich were not injured.
As a result of the preliminary investigation REVENE was issued a citation for speeding. The crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State police with the assistance of the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section. The Concord Fire Department and Mass DOT.
As a result of the crash investigation and vehicle removal, Route 2 was closed for approximately 2 ½ hours.
