State Police Investigate Serious Crash on Route 3 in Plymouth

Today at 6:05 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Bourne responded to a one-car crash on Route 3 northbound in Plymouth.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Shawn Harris indicates that 40-year-old Dana Brown of Plymouth was operating a 1997 Toyota 4Runner when the vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest in the northbound travel lanes. Mr. Brown, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Jordan Hospital and later flown by medical helicopter to Boston Medical Center.

Speed is believed to be the factor involved in this crash and the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section are assisting in the investigation. Also assisting at the scene were Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Bourne as well as members of the Plymouth Fire and Police Departments.

Route 3 northbound was completely closed for almost 3 hours while the investigation was completed and traffic was diverted onto Route 3A.

The investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued.

No further information is available at this time. Please do not call the barracks directly.
