State Police Engaged in Rescue Effort
Tonight at approximately 6:57 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Boston responded to calls of a man jumping from westbound side of the Longfellow Bridge.
The State Police Marine unit was able to recover a victim from the water and responding EMS personnel began providing immediate first aid. The victim has been transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for further treatment.
State Police personnel were assisted at the scene by Boston EMS, the Cambridge Police Department, and the Cambridge Fire Department.
The name of the victim is being withheld.
No further information is available at this time.
