Motor Vehicle stop results in a seizure of 40lbs. of marijuana

n Monday May 10, 2010 at 4:10 a.m. Trooper Sean P. Healy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 290 East in the Town of Auburn. While Trooper Healy was engaged in this stop, a separate vehicle passed his location while committing several infractions.

Trooper Healy was able to stop the car and during the ensuing investigation, he determined that there was no properly licensed operator in the vehicle. Trooper Healy arrested the operator for operating after license suspension and during follow-up investigation located approximately 40 lbs. of marijuana hidden in the vehicle.

The following men were arrested as result of the investigation:

Jermaine Campbell, 34, of 69 Canterbury Street Worcester
Charged with: Conspiracy to violate Drug Laws
Possession of Class D substance with intent to distribute
Failure to change lanes for an Emergency Vehicle

Fredrick Rideout, 43, of 68 Southgate Street Worcester
Charged with: Conspiracy to violate Drug Laws
Possession of Class D substance with intent to distribute

Additionally located and seized during this investigation were drug distribution paraphernalia and $6220.00 in US currency.

Trooper Matthew Braga and Trooper Paul Minahan also assisted in this investigation.
