State Police Locate Subject from Massachusetts Most Wanted List

Henry Valerio has been on the Massachusetts Most Wanted list since 2004 with numerous warrants having issued for rape of a child, assault to rape, and indecent assault on a child under the age of 14.

In 1989, Valerio was convicted of the charges in the Worcester Superior Court and while he was out on bail awaiting sentencing, he fled to the Dominican Republic.

State Police Troopers assigned to the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) recently developed information as to Valerio's current whereabouts and in a joint effort with the Worcester County District Attorney's office, were able to provide the information to United States Marshal's Service, who were able to apprehend Valerio in the Dominican Republic.

Valerio is currently being held in the Dominican Republic by the US Marshal's Service and he will be extradited to Massachusetts for sentencing at a future date.

No further information is available at this time.
