State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Wampatuck Road in Quincy

On Saturday May 29, 2010 at approximately 10:31 p.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a single-vehicle crash on Wampatuck Road in Quincy. The crash resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Charles McGrail indicates that a 39-year-old Michael Seitz from Randolph was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer north on Wampatuck Road in Quincy when the Blazer drove off the right side of the roadway striking several trees. The unbelted operator was seriously injured and transported to Quincy Medical were he was pronounced deceased.

The facts and circumstances of this crash remain under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Medical Examiners Office. The Quincy Fire Department assisted troopers at the scene.

The roadway was closed for crash investigation and vehicle removal.
