State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Sturbridge

Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Sturbridge responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 84 eastbound at exit 3A ( Route 20 westbound) in Sturbridge at 9:22 p.m. this evening. The crash resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Jay Willard indicates that Elizabeth L. Arnold, 25, of Brighton, was operating a 1999 Acura 30CL on the eastbound side of Route 84 when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the median and rolled over. Ms. Arnold was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Sturbridge Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's Highway Division are assisting troopers at the scene. Troopers are still on-scene investigating the crash.
