State Police Fugitive Section Captures Most Wanted Probation Violator

Members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section traveled to Maine early this morning and arrested one of probation violators on the Probation Service's newly-released Most Wanted List.

Troopers William Kenney, Richard Sementelli and Robert Coletti, along with members of the Maine State Police and Kennebunk Police, located JOHN BRINE, 41, at 9 Captain Sawyer Lane in Kennebunk at around 7 a.m. and placed him under arrest.

BRINE was wanted on three warrants. One charges him with assault and battery on a disabled person over 60, assault and battery and threats to commit crime. Another warrant charges BRINE with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute and drug violation near a school or park. The third warrant charges him with larceny by scheme over $250 and uttering a false document.

The State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section began working with the Probation Service earlier this week to track down wanted probation violators. An investigation by VFAS troopers led to the Captain Sawyer Lane address in Kennebunk.

BRINE was booked and held at York County Jail and is expected to appear in Biddeford District Court tomorrow afternoon.
