Man Killed in Crash on Route 3 Northbound in Billerica

Last night at 10:05 p.m. troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Concord responded to Route 3 northbound, north of exit 26 in Billerica for multiple reports of a human body in the roadway.  Billerica Fire Department was immediately notified and dispatched as well.  Upon the arrival of the emergency responders, it was determined that the male victim in the roadway was deceased.

According to witness statements taken at the scene, the victim was involved in a single car crash on Route 3 northbound.  He exited his vehicle and began walking down a travel lane of the highway.  He was eventually struck by a passing motorist.

The deceased in this crash is identified as Steven Khabbaz, 27 of Tewksbury.

The circumstances surrounding this accident are still under investigation by troopers from the State Police Barracks in Concord along with troopers assigned to the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S) and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section (C.S.S.S.)
