Mar 07: Logan Task Force Arrests Two, Intercepts More Than $1m in Drugs from Puerto Rico

State troopers and federal agents assigned to the Logan Airport Task Force on Wednesday, March 6 disrupted a narcotics smuggling pipeline from Puerto Rico to New England.  

Investigators and Transportation Security Administration officials involved in the investigation seized approximately 12 kilograms of cocaine in Puerto Rico and another 10 kilograms in Boston. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is more than $1 million.

Massachusetts state troopers and special agents assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Homeland Security Investigations intercepted and arrested two passengers arriving from San Juan on Jet Blue Airlines.   

NAXEL O. MIRANDA- DIAZ, 20, and EDWIN ROSARIO, 28, both of Puerto Rico, were arrested  and charged with trafficking in a Class B substance (cocaine) over 200 grams.  

Task Force members in Boston seized approximately 10 kilos of Cocaine during the arrest.

The defendants were each held on $250,000 bail pending arraignment in East Boston District Court.
