State Police Respond to Double Fatal Crash on Route 95 in Norwood
Last night at approximately 10:30 p.m. troopers from the State Police Barracks in Foxboro responded to numerous calls for a rollover crash on Route 95 southbound, prior to Exit 11B, in Norwood.
On arrival troopers found a 1998 Ford Explorer had, for reasons still to be determined, crashed and rolled over numerous times. There were two occupants in the vehicle both suffered fatal injuries and were declared deceased at the scene. The occupants are being identified at this time as Jerome Blomquist ,59, from Wrentham and Joan Pupi ,60, also from Wrentham.
Per State Police Policy we do not comment on victim relationship.
Sections of Route 95 were closed for three hours to allow for the recovery of victims, crash investigation and subsequent clean-up.
The facts and circumstances of the crash are under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts Sate Police, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services and Troop H Investigators. Troopers on scene received assistance from Norwood Fire Department and Mass Department of Transportation.
