The Department of Public Safety (“Department”) proposes amending its amusement regulations, 520 CMR 5.00, et seq. The recently enacted Chapter 108 of the Acts of 2012 inserted a section into M.G.L. c. 147, which provides that licenses issued under the authority of the Department and held by individuals engaged in active duty with the armed forces will remain valid for up to 90 days following their release from active duty. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to codify this new law into the Department’s amusement regulations. Additionally, the proposed amendment updates the standards adopted to include the most recent versions of the applicable standards.
The Department will be holding a public hearing on its proposed regulations on September 20, 2013, at 10:00 AM at One Ashburton Place, Ashburton Café, Plaza Level, Boston, MA 02108.
