In FFY 2012, EOPSS/HSD contracted with the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) to conduct up to fourteen (14) specialized training courses for Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians. The MPTC serves the Commonwealth by establishing training standards and providing training programs to more than 20,000 police officers throughout the state. Each year, the MPTC directly contributes to the public safety mission of the Commonwealth by administering and delivering training programs at six regional academies and other sites throughout the state. CPS courses scheduled during FFY 2012 will ensure the opportunity to train and recertify CPS technicians. Please view the MPTC website (www.mass.gov/mptc) for current training opportunities.

In addition to providing federal funds to the MPTC for training courses, the contract also provides funding via the MPTC during FFY 2012 to hire a certified CPS Instructor as program manager to lead all of the specialized courses and aid in the administrative oversight of the program. For any questions regarding upcoming trainings, please contact statewide training program manager Don Dupray at triadtraffic@verizon.net.
