The purpose of the Speedwatch program is to increase awareness about the effects of speed. Distributing information is your first chance to communicate directly with the driving public. Set up an informational traffic stop at the targeted location.
Speedwatch grant communities can distribute Executive Office of Public Safety's Highway Safety Division (EOPS-HSD) speed cards and citation holders ( downloadable pdfs of the card and citation holder can be found below). You can also distribute information on local crash and speed statistics, the effects of speed variance, speed limit compliance, and the physics of speed for one hour on one day.
