Notice of Intent to Award Funds to the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services
The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security intends to award $21,000 in federal Title II/Formula funds to the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services (DYS). This allocation falls within one of the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committees’ identified program areas for Title II/ Formula funds to address systems change.
Funds will be utilized to enhance a comprehensive collaborative approach to emerging juvenile justice issues within the Commonwealth. The services to be provided include a training series with national experts in the juvenile justice field to address a wide range of topics that address issues and common trends in the juvenile justice field. The services will provide a strategy that will bring more cohesion to the juvenile justice system around cutting edge research and practice that has been recognized on a national level. The DYS is the sole agency with the capacity and expertise to implement the proposed project.
The duration of the grant will be approximately 8 months with anticipated start and end dates of December 1, 2014 and July 15, 2015.
