Student Officers of the first State Police Municipal Academy successfully completed their fifteenth week of training at the State Police Academy in New Braintree. Week Fifteen included courses in Domestic Violence, Criminal Procedure, Interview and Interrogation, Motor Vehicle Law, Ethics, Riot Training, Crime Scene Investigation, Bomb Recognition, and Command and Leadership.
This week Retired Massachusetts State Police Captain Raymond Alzapiedi stopped by the Academy's Firearms Range Complex to view the mural of fallen troopers located there. Captain Alzapiedi is a classmate of fallen Trooper Alje Savela after whom the Firearms Complex was named. Captain Alzapiedi also made time to visit with SPMA #1 and their drill instructors.
As with all facets of SPMA #1 training the instructors for this week of training were made up of both Municipal Officers, and Massachusetts State Police Officers.
