State Police Municipal Academy 2 has successfully completed their tenth week of training at the State Police Academy in New Braintree. During week ten, Student Officers received classes in Tactical Communications, Criminal Procedure, Defensive Tactics, Motor Vehicle Law, Juvenile Gangs, Bomb Recognition, Report Writing, Patrol Procedures and Leadership. On Friday, Student Officers conducted training in house/building searches during Patrol Procedures with the assistance from members of the STOP (Special Tactical Operations) Team.

On Thursday, Officer Rice of the Shrewsbury Police Department addressed the class. Officer Rice provided the class with his personal testimony relative to a critical shooting incident in which he was seriously wounded during a building search. The class received first hand instruction regarding the mental/physical strengths needed to survive and return to full duty.
