State Police Municipal Academy Student Officers have completed their seventh week of training. Week seven included Motor Vehicle Law, Criminal Procedure, Defensive Tactics, Report Writing, Gangs, Narcotics Identification, Terrorism, Computer Crimes, Seatbelt Safety, Special Needs/Victimization and Leadership. This week, The Disabled Persons Protection Commission supplied staff to provide quality training in Special Needs/Victimization. Dave Standen, Springfield Police Department and MPTC Statewide Defensive Tactics Coordinator, attended the student officers live O.C spray training while Chief Duvernay, New Braintree Police Department, taught Terrorism. Instructors from West Springfield, Pittsfield, Auburn, Holden and Franklin Police Departments assisted or taught many of the courses.
