SPMA #2 has successfully completed their fourteenth week of training at the State Police Academy in New Braintree. During week fourteen, Student Officers received classes in Radar, Domestic Violence and Leadership.
This week also included one full day of scenario training which enlisted the support of personnel from many outside agencies who acted as role players. There were fifteen scenarios total, each lasting approximately 22 minutes, that were executed throughout the complex. The scenarios consisted of various traffic stops as well as calls for service such as larceny, shoplifting, and domestic violence. The following police department's assisted MSP personnel with scenario training; Needham, Templeton, Medfield, Salem State College, Brookline, Northborough, Methuen, Oakham, Marion and Mass. Environmental Police. SPMA #1 graduates from UMASS Worcester, UMASS Amherst, and Douglas PD assisted as role players as well as SSPO graduates from Westfield State College, Western New England College, Northeastern University and Springfield College. A special thanks to the nine soldiers from the Military Police, Hanscom Airforce Base, who assisted as well.
