The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) intends to award $2 million in federal Byrne Justice Assistance Grant funds to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) in order to support the operation of youth employment programming for at-risk youth ages 14-21. These resources and programs will support Governor Patrick's Safe and Successful Youth Initiative and its identified high priority communities. The anticipated project period is approximately July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.

EOPSS is particularly interested in ensuring the highest degree of efficiency and efficacy in delivering programming by leveraging the resources of the state's existing youth employment programs managed by EOLWD via their statutory authority over Commonwealth Corporation. Sub-contracts will be awarded in accordance with applicable state and federal ARRA procurement requirements.
Utilizing EOLWD's existing capacity, infrastructure, and systems, this Best Value award will enable the Commonwealth to expedite implementation of effective youth employment programming for at-risk youth.
