EMD Advisory Committee

The Emergency Management Directors Advisory Committee is a group comprised of Massachusetts Emergency Management Directors representing the diversity that exists in MA emergency management programs.

This guidebook provides a brief overview of the four phases and professionalactivities of emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response andrecovery). The appendices provide a variety of resources for municipalities. The guidebook is intended to be used as a planning tool for those trying to develop orbolster a new or existing emergency management program, as a reference for whenincidents occur, and when municipal officials and emergency managementpersonnel want to ensure that they are not missing any essential steps in supportingtheir community.
