FEMA's www.ready.gov/business website has a variety of free resources for business before, during and after a disaster including some business continuity tools. FEMA also has a free online independent study course: IS-394.a Protecting Your Home or Small Business From Disaster that businesses may benefit from taking
MEMA works closely with NorthEast Disaster Recovery Information X-Change (NEDRIX), which is a non-profit organization, that provides continuity and crisis management professionals access to real time governmental agencies information during a crisis or event. NEDRIX also provide industry best practices and an opportunity to meet and share ideas and experiences with peers through conferences and symposiums held throughout the year. NEDRIX is free to join and also has information on their website: www.nedrix.com.
During an emergency, businesses and the public can get emergency information from the MEMA website, the MEMA Twitter account, the MEMA Facebook account, the free ping4alerts app for iphones/Androids.
