In 2005, a new performance measurement initiative was introduced which required all of the executive secretariats to report agency-level performance measures on a monthly basis to the Governor's office. Using data and information to monitor and improve agency performance has become a longer-term management tool under the current administration as part of an overall effort to help improve criminal justice operations in Massachusetts. The Research and Policy Analysis Division provides technical assistance and analytical support to EOPS agencies for this initiative and prepares monthly reports for the Governor's office.
